DISIU

"Disiu, from the Sicilian dialect "Desiderio", born from the dream of wanting to share my origins and what I have become, to give each of you a piece of my land and the love I have for cooking."

 

Disiu represents my desire to share my passion for cooking with those who want to have fun with us on a food and wine journey.
In my Home Restaurant you will find dishes in which high quality ingredients, a lot of Italian tradition and attention to detail are mixed.

The atmosphere of Disiu is warm and hospitable, my husband Luigi and I will welcome you as we do with our family and friends, in a tastefully furnished, intimate and familiar dining room.

While I will offer you the dishes that have given flavor to my life over the years, Luigi, a certified sommelier, will take care of the selection of wines to offer you a true journey of taste and a sensory experience.
Each wine will be carefully chosen to enhance the flavor of the dishes, offering our guests a perfect combination.

SIMONA AND LUIGI

I was born in Sicily, a land full of passion and love for the family, good food and conviviality.
My parents, Francesca and Emanuele, passed on their great passion for cooking to me. Papa Emanuele, an esteemed chef, taught me that wishes are the lifeblood of our lives and that simplicity is the true value at the table.
I moved to Milan as a child, but everything at home has always brought me back to my beloved Sicily.
Disiu was born from the "Desire" to share with my guests the Sicilian authenticity that my mother taught me, enhancing the flavors and aromas of Mediterranean cuisine.
There is always a part of me in my dishes, I propose a refined cuisine that puts quality products on the table, following the seasonality of the raw materials, without ever turning my back on the Italian spirit which I deeply respect.

 

In my passion I have Luigi, my life partner, by my side, who completes my culinary proposals by offering his knowledge and passion for wines.
 
I was born in Puglia, where the oil and wine tradition has always been part of my family. 
Even as a child I helped my grandfather in the cellar, on the occasions when we decanted the wine I happened to taste it and, even if at the time I was unable to appreciate its flavor and aromas, that was the moment in which my curiosity began. 
Over the years I have become passionate about this fascinating world and I decided to study to understand and appreciate it in its variety, until I graduated as a sommelier.
Today I organize and direct courses for aspiring sommeliers and for my tastings I look for small producers who are able to give great emotions with their wines.
